True American Christmas

In true American style, the morning started with a loud “Merry Christmas!” from one of the youngest. Breakfast consisted of bacon, eggs and flapjacks. Delicious coffee. And high spirits.
Sitting near the real tree, decorated with ornaments from all over the world. While gifts were dished out.

Lunch preparations started with Prawns and Devil Eggs for orderves, beef on the rib, lobster, green beans and almonds for mains. Cashew nut and ice cream for desert. Great spread, great company, and sufficient space left to burp.

The afternoon turned into a game while discussions about our ‘road trip’ started.
One problem with planning a road trip, it’s difficult to judge driving distance. We were sufficiently advised that the route we’ll be taking is ridiculously too long.
The original plan was from Redwood City, San Francisco we would travel to Frank Beach, Lake Tahoe on route Las Vegas. The distance to travel and the site’s we’ll miss is not worth it.
Plans changed to traveling from Here, Redwood City. Into Yosemite Valley. Then to Bishop for a night, before making our way to Vegas for two nights.

Thankfully we were surrounded by warm, helpful people who adjusted our path sufficiently.

The morning holds an awesome drive. Till then. Adios!
